Neither microphone was working when they came out of Billy O's Dynamite Music. The capsules were cleaned. The circuits were repaired. Grain captures what they sound like now — the Shure 51's character on one end, the Turner 253's on the other, with a blend slider between them. Saturation and noise floor are not effects added after the fact. They are what these two capsules produce.
